January Giveaway: Made by Ewe

love ewe

To kick off the new year in style I have a lovely giveaway to share, sponsored by Linda Regel aka “Made by Ewe”.

About Linda

Linda has been knitting since since she was young and she has fond memories of wearing her mum’s warm and cosy handknit jumpers to school – they were always better than the thin shop-bought ones! In the evenings Linda would play with yarn by the fire, making presents for her family and clothes for her toys. I am sure many of my blog readers can identify with this…

It’s no surprise then that when Linda grew up, she ran a business designing children’s hand-knitted jumpers for a few years. Then, in 2010 she started Made By Ewe. She’d become frustrated at the lack of good quality knitting kits available. So many kits she looked at contained cheap imported yarn and unimaginative and badly written patterns. Surely any knitter would be put off knitting for life, trying to produce something worthwhile from those kits?!  Made By Ewe kits all contain gorgeous British yarn and as much other British stuff as possible! For example the tubes are made from recycled card in the UK, the stuffing is British fleece.

Made by Ewe is a also proud partner of the Campaign for Wool.

Giveaway

Linda has kindly supplied a Love Ewe knitting kit for the winner of the giveaway and 2 sets of exclusive sheep knitting needles (made by Linda) for runners up. All you need to do is hop over to Linda’s website and tell me about one of her products that you really like. As always, one comment per person. Please include your email address in the comment as that is how I will contact the winners. Your comment will not show up straight away was I moderate all comments manually. This giveaway closes at the end of January 2014. Good luck!

  1. Ooooh! I love the knitted sheep kits! They are just so cute – I struggle to choose just 1 kit I really like as they’re all fabulous! The love ewe one would make great valentines gift for my husband as he loves sheep.

  5. My favourite really has to be the reindeer kits, they are so cute but I was hard pressed to pick these out over the others, ie. the sheep, bunnies and the needles are just gorgeous, imagine knitting with those I loved the honey pots especially. ruthmckeown@eircom.net

  7. The hand-crocheted corsages were lovely; perhaps they could be made available in kits by adding crochet instructions to the Knit Your Own Flower Pins kit? The little sheep & bunnies were adorable, and I would love to see instructions for a crochet version included in each kit. The Made by Ewe site didn’t really indicate whether or not they ship to North America; if they do, I like the concept of the postage-saving Kits in Bits option. If I truly wanted to learn knitting, the Make Your Own Handwarmers kit would probably be the best bet (or could be adapted to one of the crocheted handwarmer patterns available online). The high-quality British yarn skeins/balls/hanks, however, I could easily use with the crochet patterns I already have, and I particularly like those 50g balls of British Aran wool, as that’s a yarn weight I often use already. Looks like a fantastic site!

  11. I love all the kits, but if I had to choose it would be the Bob the Sheep.
I may have to buy the bunny kit for my daughter as she is mad about rabbits! Great site.

  12. I love the cute sheep kits. While I don’t usually dress critters, some of these sheep coats are wonderful. But it would have to be the tea cozy with flowers for me. DH saw me wrapping a dish towel around my teapot and said he thought we had a tea cozy. I said, no, we’ve never had one. I guess it’s time for me to knit one!

  13. Such woolly sweetness to choose from, but in the end it is the Christmas Tree Advent Garland – Knitting Pattern, and it is the use of buttons that pushed it to the front. Knitting and buttons – I am so there!

  14. Ooh I just love everything in her shop – Cupid the Reindeer and Rose the Sheep being favourites, but the one thing that I kept going back to was the apple green British Aran yarn. I am going to have to buy some of that. It’s gorgeous.

  15. Like everyone else, I’ve struggled to pick a favourite as it’s all gorgeous! I will have to go for knitting my own sheep called Bob – my hubby’s name! The needles are lovely too. Website now in favourites, following on all social media, and will definitely be buying Bob if I don’t win! (twist at cwgsy.net)
